[Petal] Apache AxKit

Since so many of you folks are way ahead of me on the XML curve, I
thought I'd throw this question at you. Thanks in advance for any
feedback!

First, does anyone here used AxKit? How are you using it? From what I've
read about it, it sounds like Petal on steroids. Can someone explain the
differences between it and Petal? Perhaps AxKit does not provide the
ability to dynamically insert data into the XML using templates. Has
anyone used Petal with AxKit? Or would that even make sense?

The reason I'm asking is because I've heard good things about it and I
need a CMS solution, preferably Perl-based. I'm playing with Bricolage
right now (which means I finally have Mason installed on my test server
so that I can start trying to incorporate Petal support...).  In
attempting to be complete, I wanted to check out other options.
However, it doesn't look like AxKit provides any kind of CMS interface.
I guess Bricolage could be modified to output to XML which would then be
served by AxKit. That's an interesting idea!
