Hrm.  Does this mean that '<span petal:replace="myvarable">Misspelled 
variable!</span>' will silently disappear?  This would be bad!

'nothing' was defined so that we could explicitly talk about it, as in 
tal:replace="nothing", and have a simple false value that can be used 
explicitly, as in tal:define="request/formvar | nothing".
