Hi folks,
A couple weeks ago, I sent an email to announce Petal to Reuven Lerner,
the author of the excellent "At the Forge" column in Linux Journal. He
said I could repost his reply to the list. I thought you may find it
interesting to see the meme spreading <g>.

Subject: Perl meets ZPT - a new library for Perl
Hi, William. Thanks so much for writing to me, and I apologize for
taking a while to get back to you.
In short: I'm increasingly impressed by ZPT, and I'm delighted to hear
that
(a) there is a Perl implementation and (b) that the Zope folks are
cooperating in its development.
I'm definitely going to take a look at Petal!

I still enjoy working in Perl, and use it on a very regular basis in
my own work. But in the last year, I've worked on a number of
projects that required a more complete infrastructure than any
Perl-based system can provide. So I've been working with Zope and
OpenACS a fair amount. I definitely prefer Perl to Tcl, but I find
myself straddling the Perl/Python divide quite a lot lately, enjoying
both languages.
Don't worry, though -- within another month or two, I expect to start
writing about Web services and content management. And you can be
sure that Perl will figure in there somewhere!
All the best,
Reuven
