[Petal] [BUG] set: doesn't seem to work in non-xml templates

Hi

I have a Petal email template and I want to set a variable like this:

  <?petal:set name="preferences_uri string:${login_url}preferences.html"?>

So I can use this in the template:

  $preferences_uri

However that doesn't work :-(

But using this does work:

  ${login_url}preferences.html

I suspect I'm using the wrong syntax for set (using a PI), but I can't
think of another way to do it.

Is this a Petal bug or is it just me being stupid?
