Phew, almost a year now!

I have been looking at the way that Tomcat is set up on FC4 and
have written some notes below.

Best regards,

Phil

Thursday 22 September
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Re-partitioned my dual boot workstation and (eventually) upgraded
to FC4. All partition and bootloader nightmares realised and
overcome, both systems restored to working condition -- I'll spare
the details.
Tuesday 27 September
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Started debugging for FC4; first case, problems getting HTTP
headers from URL connections, GCJ bug 24084.

Wednesday 28 September
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Created a workarounds for the header bug above in the JSpider
classes HTTPHeaderUtil and CookieUtil. Found another GCJ bug
handling gzip encoding, filed and applied a workarounds to
FetchRobotsTXTTaskImpl and SpiderHttpURLTask; for the time
being they do not accept any alternative encoding. Created and
filed some test cases for the problems.
Corrected some configuration problems for JSpider with class
references that had not kept up to date with the changes to the
store package.
Thursday 29 September
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Further investigation of the gzip encoding bug. Submitted a bug
report to GCJ/Classpath. Updated MKSearch site with
documentation and planned task status, etc.

Friday 30 September
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Research and write-up for Tomcat on FC4 as above.
