I agree. I suppose WYSIWYG editing has it's place, but none of the current
crop of commercial products seem to do a very good job of generating valid
XHTML. My main reason for thinking in terms of a "straight HTML" templating
system has to do with portability -- everytime one moves from one one CMS to
another, there's always: a) a learning curve b) an effort to modify current
content into a new system.

I don't know too much about HTML_Tree (or the MKDOc templating system, yet
:)) -- I assumed that its DOM capability allowed one to access nodes that
allowed dynamic templating of some sort.
Anyway, as I mentioned, I was just curious...and as I learn more about
MKDoc, these things will resolve themselves.
