Hi,
I've redrafted some of the text from the admin interface
/.admin.properties
I've done this mainly in order to get my head around the Group
functionality.
BUG
===
There seems to be a Bug in this functionality also, in that you
apparently have the option of removing a Group access from a document if
you are a member of that Group, even though the document's parent is a
member of that Group.
You can't actually do this, it just appears that you can as the Group
box is not grayed-out. You are allowed to untick this box, as though
you've unselected a Group, and then submit the amendment by saving the
page. But then if you go back to the Group box in question, you find it
still ticked and now grayed-out. This is how it should have appeared in
the first place.
Redraft
=======
The *New text* is to replace the *Present text*, and the [ Help text ]
is to appear in a box in on the right-hand side, ( in a similar fashion
to the [ Help text ] for the 'Document Metadata')
Group Controls
--------------
Present text:
You may optionally restrict access to this document and its child
documents. By default everyone has access when no groups are selected
- Otherwise users must be in at least one of the selected groups to
be able to view these documents. Greyed-out groups indicate, either
you are not a member of that group, or group access has already been
defined in a parent document."
New text:
Select the Group(s) of Users that will be able to access to this
document.
[ Help text ]
A ticked box indicates a Group already selected.
Note : On all occasions, a document inherits the Group access rights
of its parent.
You may only select from Groups to which you belong.
If no Group is selected, then all Users may access this document.
( New Groups can be created by the Site Administrator only. The Site
Administrator is responsible for assigning Group membership to Users
also. )
